    Cottonwood Trees and the Seeds

Will be parked in the middle of a bunch Cottonwood Trees this summer. Need ideas that have worked to try and keep the seeds out of the roof a/c.
    Thanks!

Cut them down? I don't think there is an easy way to keep them out. Maybe buy some screen door material and cover the AC unit?

Maybe you could adapt something like this https://www.amazon.com/Sturdy-Covers...dDbGljaz10cnVl

This one is cut to fit and specifically mentions cottonwood! https://www.amazon.com/Permatron-Fil..._t2_B06Y4TKCGM

That screen sounds like a good idea.

We stayed at a campground once with those darn trees and I ended up having to remove the AC covers to clean the fins. What a hassle. And we were only there a week. The permanent folks had built wooden cages with screens to keep the tree trash out. Of course, many of those folks never bothered to clean those tho - go figure...

The screen(s) sound like a good idea to me, too. Cottonwoods do offer some good shade. If you have the option of cutting any down, don't burn the wood! It smells worse than an army latrine burn pit...

    Thanks for all suggestions.
I have purchased some material from a fabric store.
It is very similar to netting.
I was able to purchase in a large size.
I'm going to tie it around the whole a/c and hold in place with some small
    diameter cord.
The a/c cover is a little flimsy and I think the above will work.
If not, back to the drawing board.
I'll try to report back with some images.

Rob, you really shouldn't burn green Cottonwood, it does smell like a latrine... If you let it dry out, it's fine. It's the sap burning that smells so bad.

I think you hit upon a great idea! I need to let my wife know so she can sew up a cover for the AC units! Thanks!

    This stuff came plenty big.
This is a no sew project.
    Cost was cheap.
Use it and then throw away.

That would be good, but the wife doesn't like to make throw away things...
