    Imagine 2450RL in hot environment

I would appreciate some advice from someone with experience in hot weather.

Could this trailer cope with temperatures in Las Vegas N.V. in July?
It is the 30 amp version.

AC units are designed to decrease about 20 degrees max. from outside temps.

Years ago when we would stay on the Colorado river in summer we added a piece of plywood on stilts over the unit to keep it shaded.
Not sure if it made a difference, but it felt nice compared to outside.

We have a 2020 2450rl and have been in Jupiter Fl and lots of state parks in GA during the summer.
Last year at Crooked River State Park (GA / FLA line) it got to 97f. During really hot weather it pays to have the smart start installed in your A/C.
It starts the compressor slower rather than taking all the energy for a fast start. After installing the smart start we have been
comfortable during hot Georgia and Fl summers. Before the smart start if the a/c compressor came on while the microwave or other
high consumers of power was in use it tripped the breaker.
    Hope this helps:

Whether or not you have a shaded spot / angle and # of hours the sun directly hits your trailer are what will determine this.

The solar load has a huge impact.

A reasonably shaded spot combined with reasonable expectations (don’t expect 68 degrees at 5pm) it should work. I recognize shade may be tough to come by in that location. Trailer orientation can also help - full afternoon sun on your biggest windows won’t help. Often people will angle so they can have the awning blocking the side of the trailer the sun hits in the afternoon.

On 1 of our trips last summer we got a bigger then normal heat wave. Sunny, no shade, no wind and days between 104 and 110. We were sure glad that have that ac. It kept the inside at 70. We kept all shades closed.
