    Drainage Caps

    Hello fellow RV family,
Curious how to get these open for the first time. Bought the RV this Spring. When I twist the foam insulation starts to loosen so want to make sure i do it right.
    Thanks in advance!

Hold on to the part with the long ears and unscrew the bottom part. Mine were on real tight and I had to use pliers for the first time.

And while you have the plugs out to drain the lines, replace them with 1/4 turn valves from your local hardware store. The plugs are 1/2 inch pipe thread. Next years winterizing wi go much easier.

I'm now able to undo mine by hand and no leaks when they are back on. They don't need to be super tight since there's a washer in there.

Xs two what Pap and Mimi said. After having enough of getting splashed with antifreeze in the spring and just the PITA of crawling under the trailer usually with a couple pliers, I installed a couple brass ball valves. Man, what a life saver.

Yep. Add these. Way easier. I removed the plugs. Don't need them anyway.
I was showing these to a guy at the RV park. That's why there is a puddle.

I got mine at the local Ace Hardware store. I did wrap them with Teflon tape so they don't leak. Be careful not to over tighten.
I like the PVC because they are lighter weight.
