Is it just me...who wears gloves at dump station?

The last 5 or so times I've went to the dump station, I'm the only person who is wearing gloves while handling the sewer hose and related components. It just amazes me how many people will connect, disconnect and wash their sewer hose with bare hands, and then just get in the truck and drive away. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not scared of germs, I eat off the floor if I drop food and have a stellar immune system, but I DO wear disposable gloves while doing anything with my sewer system.

I will say, one time, I met a Reflection 303 owner at the dump station that I usually use and he was wearing gloves.

One other thing, these same gloveless people are the ones who don't use a sewer elbow at the dump station and usually end up getting crap, literally, all over the place.

    Anyone else notice anything similar?

I wear gloves. Nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight. So, no, you are not alone!

I wear disposable gloves. At my weekender site I usually just wash my hands after dumping the tanks.

I wear gloves. You may feel comfortable with your own waste but the gloves also protect you from whatever is on all the stuff at the dump station. Like their hose, their water turn-on, the sewer cap, the brick to hold the hose in the sewer, etc . . . The gloves protect you from whatever is on all the 'stuff' you touch to dump your RV.

I wonder if those who don't use gloves are also paranoid about going anywhere without a mask...??

P.S. For the record, I use gloves at the dump station ;-)

Always wear disposable gloves when dumping the tanks. Even if I’m at a site for several weeks and everything is hooked up and all I have to do is pull the levers and hook up the black tank flush. Then toss them and wash up.

Disposable gloves here too then use disposable hand-cleaner wipe things before getting back in the truck.

I wear the loose disposable translucent green ones. They rip easily, but easier to get on. My valve handles have so much damn grease on them, it's as much to keep that off my hands as the germs.
