Bull Run in Manassas VA is great. In the forest with full hookups and all are pull through. Very nice water park for kids in the park too

We've never camped at the park ... but stayed with family in the area often in years past. There is a rhododendron garden on top of Roan Mountain. When it's in bloom, it is truly mind-boggling! Highly recommended!

I am relatively new to RV'ing and Grand Design. Bought our 2021 22MLE in Nov/2020 with our maiden and only trip for 2020 in late Nov before putting her into hibernation for what seemed to me as the longest winter ever ! We planned one long weekend trip per month starting in late April through Nov 2021. Actually, the trip in Nov is to the GD rally at Skidaway, GA. I cannot think of a better way to end our season than with fellow GD owners!

Since I am also a Nerd and research everything, I have to answer to a higher authority - the wife - finding a "good campground" is only half the battle. Trying to get a reservation is next to impossible. I guess it is the norm to plan a year out for trips, especially since our long weekend trips are from a Thursday-Sunday, prime camping time. We look forward to retiring in about 7 years when we can just pack and go and boondock/harvest host and stay at campgrounds during the week.

That said, I found a great website (https://www.campsitephotos.com/) that provides a list of best-recommended sites along with pics.

I do not mind sharing our "best" camping spots with this group. Check out Cloudland Canyon state park in NW GA. It is about 25 miles SSW of Chattanooga, TN. Breathtaking hikes and waterfalls. Nice campsites and clean. The only bad thing is no sewer hookups.

I prefer boondocking but Georgetown Lake Philipsburg Bay Campground is very nice. No hookup, but sites right next to Georgetown Lake. Pic is of boondocking in Utah.

I've started my Memorial Week Trip today. This is the 5th year in a row with an RV that I head over to NE Oregon from Springfield, Oregon. The 2016 380TH Momentum made to trips, and now the Solitude is on it's 3rd trip.
This time; the Solitude has 400 ah of lithium and a few solar panels on the roof. Boondockin' should be much easier this time.
Last week; it was in the low 80 in most of Oregon and pretty warm in the mountains too. Tonight is not going to be warm, except inside the RV. The low is supposed to be 30*F, so the furnace is going to be working a bit.

Here is camp for tonight. It's about 5 miles ( the way the crow flies ) from Sisters, Oregon.

The paved road is 100 ft away and only 2 cars have driven by this evening. There will probably be no more till the loggers or others go by in the morning. We'll see. KEN

We have found some dandy parks but not sure we've found our best yet. We're halfway through a big loop and I'm hoping the best is in the Redwoods, Park City and wintering in Sedona. Time will tell. Click image for larger version.
