The Nicest Campground I/We Ever Stayed at was...

Mountain City RV Park in Heber Utah.

Close to Park City, Salt Lake and Midway. Has 2 areas; one for families and the other for adults. It was cold in late September, but the pool was heated, had an awesome firepit. The spaces were spacious and concrete.




The worst campground was a little place on Canyon Lake Texas. Us old folks remember the song "Charlie Brown". One of the lines in the song was "are you going to be here when the morning comes?". That very line was used on us the day we arrived. That night we had a stabbing, police all over the place, almost everyone was high on pot by midnight, campers kept arriving until about 2 in the morning and they would set up and turn up the music and the party started. Our only saving grace was that Saturday afternoon the rain started and folks either had to stay inside or leave. Thankfully most of them left. I think it was the first time in all my years of camping that I put everything up and locked the camper before we left the campground.

Now we compare all campgrounds to the "campground from hell" and judge accordingly. It still holds first place.

You're right, it's a great park. Picked up the 31MB last August from a dealer in Vernal, UT (250 miles from home and 120 from Heber City) and did a week's shakedown there. Played 3 different golf courses while there. Didn"t have any issues with the rig while there so didn't have to drop it off for warranty work on the way home. Not the case presently, as have slide and fireplace problems. Am presently in La Grande, OR turning for home. Problem slide has been in for the last three weeks and several stops since April 27th. Dropping it off at the Vernal dealer next Thursday. Anyway, have stayed at Mountain View on 3 separate occasions and will stay again.

Sorry I'm so late looking at this website. We've been up in the Blue Ridge Mountains camping at our member owned campground. After $475 yearly dues, I can camp for $1 a night for up to 14 nights a month--12 mos. of the year.

We have 300 campsites, 2 pools and tennis courts. And our clubhouse is 50' x 120' with a 50' ceiling and a huge rock fireplace. Nice place.

I'm sure we have a little better deal than what Ft. Wilderness would be.

We have found some dandy parks but not sure we've found our best yet. We're halfway through a big loop and I'm hoping the best is in the Redwoods, Park City and wintering in Sedona. Time will tell. Attachment 34288

We finally found our favorite destination, Shyrock, in Superior, MT. We purchased a lot and will spend at least half a year when the lot is ready. Now just to figure out the other half of the year
