    Dometic refrigerator

Our 2019 Transcend dometic refrigerator is not kicking on , the lights on the panel are working just not kicking on . Any ideas what’s going on?

There will be some smarter people than me to weigh in on your post, but just to get you started...

You've got lights so it sounds like you have at least 12 volt reaching the fridge.

*Is your fridge set to "Gas" or "Auto"?
If "Gas" be sure that you have gas in your bottle(s) and the valve is open. You also might want to light a stove top burner to be sure gas has filled the lines. It can take a minute or two for gas to reach the appliances.

If you are set to "Auto", you need to be sure that either the gas is on (as mentioned above) or you are plugged into shore power. On "Auto" the fridge will run off of shore power and automatically switch to gas if you loose shore power for some reason.

*Couple of other items... if you are running the fridge on gas, you should hear a "click, click, click" which is the ignitor attempting to light the burner of the fridge. Then you will hear the burner (sounds like the water hater except a little softer). If the burner doesn't light you will get a "check" light on the panel. At that point again check that your gas is on and has reached the appliances. If it runs on shore power, you won't hear anything and if could take several hours for things to cool enough to use or even notice. These trailer absorption fridges are terribly slow.

*The fridge will run off of shore power alone, but not battery alone. It's either shore power or gas. The battery only runs the controls of the fridge like the indicator lights.

And if you know all this already I'm sorry for an RV 101 answer. I couldn't tell from your post if this might be a first time RV.

Thank you for responding . It is our first rv , we’ve never ran the refrigerator on gas we keep it on auto AC . When we turn it on it usually starts running , so we will try to figure out. Thanks

Go outside and remove the lower fridge vent.. there are two fuses... the glass one (5 amp) is for the 120 volt AC side.. check it to see if it is blown...

IF it is good verify you actually have 120 volt power to the fridge plug in.

NOTE - the fridge requires both 12 volt DC and 120 volt AC to run in electric mode... You have eye brow lights on so the 12 volt side is good

If you have 120 volts to outlet and fuse not blown then look on the fridge stack and verify the overtemp switch didnt pop.. If it is good and you have a multimeter then ohm out the two 120 volt AC fridge heaters...

The refrigerator doesn’t really do anything that’s noticeable from inside the trailer when it’s cooling. No pumps or motors. No buzzing or humming except for the cooling fan in the space behind it that only comes on when the area is warm.

And while you've got that lower fridge vent off, make sure the fridge is plugged into the electrical outlet. It has a standard 3 prong electrical plug and there's and there's a standard AC outlet outlet in there. It's not likely it would fall out by itself, but take a peak and check it off the list.

Doing IT support taught me always check the easy stuff first ("... is it plugged in, is it turned on").
