    Thanks all for the feedback.
I think Marshal27 summed it up.
I remember this happening on several occasions. I had to jiggle the key to get it out and probably locked it with the door open.
Does anyone have experience with the electronic keypad? (RVlock)

    Thanks

I have an RVlock keyless main door lock. Me and the wife love it. We only use the deadbolt so never a chance of getting locked out. We also just use the keypad so no key needed. We feel it's one of the better upgrades we've done.

I can attest this does happen. I opened my door and must have put the lock in the lock position. Left the keys inside and went back out and shut the door. Fortunately the bedroom window was open. We now have a extra key hidden outside.

Since you have a Ford, you can leave the spare key in the truck. You have the keypad entry to the truck, so it's not a big deal if your truck keys also get locked in the RV. That's the method we use, works great.

Great idea about leaving key in Ford Truck. We did put one key in the truck and still hid a key. Sometimes the truck is gone and that way if my wife locks her self out she will have a way to get in.

If you pull your keys out of the door after unlocking it and then open your door this can never happen

my last rig I would brush the lock as I left the trailer and it would lock. After my locking myself out multiple times I put spares on the key fob for the truck, a hide a key on the trailer. So far with this new rig the only lockout I've had was when we picked it up from the dealer. He put all the keys in the cupboard, and the door was locked when it was closed. When I got home, I discovered that I could not get in. Luckly the rear window could be pulled away just enough to get something in to unlatch it. I was able to crawl through to get inside. If your familiar with the Reflection design, you know that I had to go over the kitchen island to get to the control panel to roll out a side so I could get to the door and open it.

I have never seen a door lock on any of the trailers I have had that you can brush up against to lock

The only switch or lever is for the deadbolt and this would hit the jamb if it was engaged

The one and only way to lock the main door is with the key , only way
