We bought a MORryde manual reel and it works great. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...de/MR47RR.html

It’s not cheap but it’s built very well and does the job very well.

I put our fat 50a cord in a storage bin. It fills the bottom half. The top half holds the other things needed for the rv setup. Foam corner protectors, sewer ends, sewer supports for the rain gutter.
When the bin is outside, it's parked under the kitchen slide with the leftover cord coiled up. When the bin goes in the rv, it's stored in it's spot when the generator would normally be mounted. KEN

It’s the last thing I remove from the trailer and the first thing I connect. I just coil mine up between the hitch and the tailgate in a the bed of the truck.

I'm also in the "last off/first on" camp so I typically put mine in the truck bed. My only fear is boondocking overnight and someone helping themselves to it but we boondock at Harvest Host sites so I sleep a little bit easier. To be honest it would only take some a minute to take it if I was plugged in. That's probably happened to someone
At any rate, I will also add that if you are in a hot climate and using a cord reel you may want to unspool the entire length. Power cords need air circulation around them for cooling and many a cord has overheated on a cord reel.

I recently got a couple of these for water and electric. Fairly cheap, and I like them because you only unroll as much cord as you need and the rest stays in the caddy.

This is what I did, I bought a reel off of Amazon from MorRyde and as I rode it up I have a cloth in one hand cleaning the cord as I reel it in.

I bought an air hose manual reel from Harbor Freight, mounted it to a 2x6 and can take it out of the basement storage if needed.

Unless I know I will need to run the A/C unit, I leave that heavy cord at home. I do have a 3 gallon bucket that it fits nicely in though.

My 2020 310 GK came with a power reel in the storage bay. I use that some times, sometimes I use my storage bin on the receiver hitch behind the trailer, and sometimes when in a hurry in the truck bed in front of the hitch. If we are traveling and stopping every night the front of the truck bed is the quickest and easiest.
