    2019 Grand Design Reflection 337rls and transfer switch

    I do not have a generator nor an inverter in the fifth wheel. It is stock. Does this mean that I do not have a transfer switch? If I do not have a transfer switch, I would assume that the shore power 50A cable is wired directly to the breaker box? I do see a thick black cable going to it.

    Without the "gen prep" option or an inverter there would not be a transfer switch. From the factory, the shore power is wired directly to the distribution panel/breaker box. However, if this is a used unit, many people add an EMS (surge protector and other protection features) inline before the distribution panel. I highly recommend an EMS (either hardwired or plug in).

    We're the only owner. I have a Hughes Autoformer to use internal or external. TBD. Now I know where to wire it. I have a Victron bmv-712 installed with two LIon Energy UT 1300 batteries. I have an external SurgeGuard 34951 and an external Hughes Autoformer. The Autoformer can be mounted inside as I have the kit for that but I have not yet done that modification. I am not sure where to put the autoformer yet so that I can easily bypass it if needed.
