That's a great point @Keebler, and a good safety call out. I probably should be using both traditional chocks and X-chocks where possible.
I think the best answer to the OP's question is what most on here are saying: Use traditional chocks where possible and supplement with X-chocks where your leveling stack has made normal chocking impossible. Agree.
I will add on most sites, the X Chocks will hold. Just that a wedge chock is cheap and easy; plus the consequences of not being adequately chocked can be huge. Also, err on the side of a chock that is too heavy duty. Many years ago, I had a ~7K pound travel trailer flat crush one of the smaller yellow plastic chocks, fortunately, combined with the side that did not fail, the trailer stopped, but my heart did too for a moment.

We got our chocks from harbor freight. They are made of a heavy solid rubber with tread on the bottom. The trailer will not crush these and I have never seen one move because the trailer pushed them.
