I should clarify that I still buy wine in bottles. I just transport them in a box in my truck. I wouldn’t drink boxed wine if you paid me. I agree, plenty of affordable options that aren’t boxed swill.

I am afraid you will have to get a new fridge. Your fridge is now alcoholic, and you won't be able to keep any wine in it now, or beer for that matter!

My guess is that the fridge has a drain to prevent ice from melting when the unit is off (after use) and the water running out on the floor. It would make sense that it would run out a some low point. All you can do is just wash it out and let it dry...just like you would do at home.

You mention a middle shelf. Was it above the drip tray? Possible the wine spilled into the drip tray and drained out the rear vent via the tray drain hose?

    I couldn't be so lucky...

It would be fun watching you fail miserably a bunch of taste tests.

Me and Missus have used something like this in our travels.
Never had anything break, but we did test it and know that it "holds water."

"Spill the wine, dig that girl." Well, that's what Eric Burdon sang back in 1970... https://youtu.be/W77Kwh6f0TE

I never fail taste tests. I make sure I finish my glass. As far as actual tests. I watched Somm. That’s for serious nerds. I have a friend who is a somm in the city. I can’t hang with the pros.

Next time do like I do...
Drink all the wine and recycle the bottle before you go home.
