If it was there for a clothes dryer, it's not 120V - it's 240V. Back to checking which appliances and components got fried.

The RV is a 50 amp if that matters.

50A is still 120v, there are 2 hot lines on opposite phases. 30A 240V is not RV friendly.

With a VOM, it's a five minute troubleshooting job. Without one, everything is a guess.

The plot thickens. This says it can be 240?

Yes, I'm aware that's what it says on the sticker and if measured across the 2 hot lines, you would get 240V, but that does not mean you can plug into a 30A 240V plug, different animal. I'm curious what the dealer reports back to you, please let us know.

No, it says a 120/240 volt, not a 240 volt.

A 120/240 volt is DUAL VOLTAGE, 2 separate 120 volt legs in opposite phases. An RV does not use 240 volts for anything where in your house 240 volts would be used to power dryer heating elements, electric water heater elements and electric stoves.

An RV uses the 2 120 volt legs of a 120/240 volt receptacle independently. You will notice there is only one 240 volts double pole breaker in your RV breaker panel and that’s for the main input. That breaker is in the middle of your panel. One of the 120 volt legs supplies power to the breakers on the left side and the other leg provides 120 volts to the breakers on the right side.

A 30 amp TT-30 RV outlet is 120 volts only. A 30 amp welder outlet is only 240 volts.

If you plugged into a single voltage 240v 30 amp welder outlet you would have applied 240 volts to all your 120 volt devices.

I don’t understand how you physically plugged into a 30 amp outlet since your 50 amp plug would not match the outlet.

You dealership will get you working again. It may be a valid insurance claim if you are on the hook for the repairs.

Here’s a picture of a 50 amp RV breaker panel internals.

Yes the RV takes a 120/240v 50 amp plug. There are 2-120v inputs, the heavy BLACK wire and the heavy RED wire. If you measure between the RED and BLACK wire you will measure 240 volts because they are each 120 volts out of phase. That’s the only place in your RV that will be able to measure 240 volts.

The RV panel uses each 120 volt leg independently. In this panel you can see that the heavy BLACK wire supplies 120 volts to all the single pole 120v breakers to the left side of the panel and the RED wire supplies the other 120 leg to the single pole 120v breakers on the right side of the panel.

If you use a proper adaptor or RV dogbone to connect your 50 amp RV to a 30 amp RV outlet, the 30 RV amp outlet is a 120 volt only and uses only uses a single 120v input. The dogbone will connect the same 120v leg to both sides of the double pole breaker.

If you plug into a 240v welder outlet you likely can supply 240 volts to all your 120 volt breakers.
