Picked up my 2500 this past wed. Adjusted my hitch height today, hopefully I don't need to get a new one to drop the ball a bit lower. Looking forward to the difference in towing. Better update my profile.

Good Day to you all, and thanks in advance for any replies I might receive on my question about upgrading from a 1500 to a 2500 truck. I have no question that a 2500 would give a much better feel and actual safety. My question is, what 1500 type trucks have those who upgraded to a 2500 did you come from. It seems to me that the weight of the 2500 is the main reason for a better towing experience. I know that many 2500's have larger engines, but is that offset by the extra weight of the truck. The Ford 150 with its weight saving construction certainly has the power to pull, but since it is lighter than many of the trailers, I think it makes a big difference on the towing experience/safety. I presently have a 2018 Tundra pulling a RB2600. The Tundra does not have the lighter materials the F150 uses, and I expect it makes a difference in the towing experience. Of course, make sure your trailer brakes are properly configured.
Thanks,

I come from a 2009 Ram 1500 2wd crew cab short bed with the hemi. Went to a 2019 ram 2500 6.4 hemi 4wd crew cab short bed and it was a major difference. I think off the bat it weighs a little less than 2k lbs more than the 09. Yes everything in a HD truck is bigger and heavier than a light duty. So that’s the most difference you will feel. And there made to tow heavy.

I upgraded from a RAM 1500 to a 2500 two years ago. I also pull a 2670MK. My standard Equalizer hitch worked great. The coil springs compressed just enough to provide a level TV - trailer hookup. Enjoy!

Yes, it came with an adaptor. I've seen differing opinions of using it to tow but figure I will see if I'm level and try it before ordering a new part that is about $220.
