    Old Trucks

I have a keen interest in old trucks. I'm mainly a GM guy, but from Fords to Binders, I like them all. I've collected a few rough examples over the years and have high hopes of someday transforming them into dependable drivers.

If you're interested in old GM trucks, there's a lot of knowledge being shared at Stovebolt.com.

I have an old Ford truck I've owned it since '73 and am currently rebuilding it after sitting for 28 years.

My brother-in-law in New Mexico has the '49 Chevy that his grandfather bought new for the farm. He just finished the truck's fourth top-to-bottom two years ago. This time he pulled everything off the chassis, blasted, painted, rebuilt the entire drivetrain, and put new oak planks in the bed. He drives it in local parades and stuff. I don't have a recent photo of that truck, but we came across this one on the Olympic Peninsula two summers ago:

Is that a long bed? I had a company truck years ago with a long bed step side on a '68 C-20. Put a 110k miles in a little over 2 yrs and then got a '70 Chev C-30 with a Longhorn bed. These were used for an oilfield supply store I worked for at the time. These Chevy's held up great even with the 307 engines! Nice looking truck you have.

Thanks, it is a short bed with the old bulletproof 6 cylinder.
I kept it as original as I could, tail lights are not 69.

Picture angle maybe makes it look like a long bed. Now that I think of it the step side long bed may have had a step behind the wheelwell in the rear. Our company truck had the wood floor and hauling heavy valves..weld fittings and wire rope took a beating. we put thick sheets of plywood to beef up the floor. The one I had was an automatic and had the under dash AC unit that worked pretty darn good in the hot summer's we get in SE Louisiana. Anyway good job keeping the old Chevy going!
