EDITEDWhen I talked to him on the phone, he did not mention testing it, just send them the paid invoice. In my case that means I will invoice them from my yacht repair business for the regulator only as I installed it myself. I did send GD the old regulator.
ALSO... The replacement regulator has to be one that is approved by GD.
Reapir receipt and old regulator... Send to: GDRV Customer Service 11356 County Road 2, Middlebury, IN 46540
The person I called was at the CS number, 574-825-9679
Curious what makes the Marshall a better regulator as well. I just went with a flame king.

Well this is a complete 180 from what GD has been saying
I wonder if you got an uninformed rep?
Unsure how they could clear the recall not knowing that you actually did it
Keep us informed please if they send you a cheque
Unfortunate for me if I have to send the old regulator back on my dime the shipping will cost more than the part

Not according to what they told me. I think he is mistaken. They only way to be reimbursed is for a certified install and test with the paperwork showing an approved regulator was used. Unless I am wrong on that, someone let me know.

Which part is 180?
do you have the recall letter? Read the back.
Maybe it is because I have a company that is familiar with such things?
Unsure how they could clear the recall not knowing that you actually did it
And, I invoiced them (like any other service that would have done it) describing that it was changed out?
Unfortunate for me if I have to send the old regulator back on my dime the shipping will cost more than the part

Yep. Invoiced and shipped them the old regulator on Thursday.
If you have the recall letter from DG, read the back about "If you have already paid to have your vehicle repaired for this condition..."
Give them a call, submit your invoice from where you had it replaced.
Between Thor and GD there are over 55,000 units to be replaced. Good luck doing all of them without letting people getting it done on their own or by someone other than their dealer.
I cannot even get our dealer to return our several phone calls on this and other warranty issues.
I simply did all repairs myself, because I am able.
No, I did not submit billing for the other warranty issues, I just wanted my rig repaired and ready to go.
I feel for people who have to rely on dealers who are overwhelmed, and do not even have the courtesy of returning phone callsLast edited by Boatfixx; 07-17-2021 at 12:32 PM.

Well... It shows their willingness to get it resolved without having to take it to a GD dealership.
I'd encourage people to call, and ask them if it can be done at any RV repair, and then send them the invoice for reimbursement.
As per a pre-agreement, my company has repaired a few air conditioners, and refrigerators for RV's and there owners were reimbursed.
Re-pack bearings necessary?
