Most likely 1/2" NPT, i replaced the drain plug on mine, the plastic one that came with it was leaking from day 1, got a metal one from Lowes, good to go now.

I thought the reason it was plastic was to avoid galvanic corrosion and seizing the plug. (?)

I had thought about that, but didnt really have a choice at the time since the plastic one was leaking and I couldn't find a plastic replacement. It happened at the start of a day trip that my wife is on right now with the camper. Now that you bring it up, its probably a good idea to find a better version of the original plug. I only hope that the next plastic one doesnt leak as well.

I've seen plenty of people mount brass or bronze valves to the drain plug as a drain valve. I wonder if those have become galvanized over time or if it's really not an issue.

Now that I think about it, our water heater is a drain cap, not a plug (unless I'm losing my mind, I'll have to ask my wife since she has the camper with her). Looking at replacements online, all the drain plugs are plugs, not caps.

My bad, I gave the O.D. upthread.

It’s 1/2”. I just dug through some things the dealer gave me during our PDI and included was a two-pack of 91857 SVC Drain Plugs.

Lucky you. I only had the one. I ended up putting a 1/4 turn faucet outlet on mine. The plastic one leaked so bad I was losing about a gallon of hot water an hour. Yes, there is the metallurgical concern, but at this point that is all I could do. I knew I didn't want to put another cap on it, hence the faucet.

For those who might be interested, I wrote up a post on what I did. Once I get to my computer, I'll find it and link it here.
