King size bed dimension

Friends, I just traded up to a 390RK with the optional king bed. Can any of you tell me the dimensions. Wife wants to upgrade the mattress. I don’t have access to the camper to measure. Thanks

If you don't get any "for sure" answers, you can call Grand Design Customer Service at (574) 825-9679 and they can tell you. Searching the forum, many people say that standard king bedding fits their king mattresses in the Solitudes, though.

Not a specific answer, but some general advice:
Check height of the original setup also, and then compare to the thickness of the proposed mattress. See if you can rig up a way to duplicate and test. We just replaced ours in the Imagine (that already had a foam topper on it, so started out higher than stock!)...and while 2" higher doesn't seem like much, it is amazing how much harder it is to get into bed. Wife uses a low footstool. I've perfected a way to launch myself backwards after sitting on the edge and pushing off against the night stand....
Also check weight - our underbed lifts hold it up fine...but it is now a two person affair to lift the end of the bed to get into the storage....

Despite the above, the better sleeping is worth it!

Same here...we tried just a 4" memory foam topper on the OEM mattress. Worked for about a week until the oem mattress was flat. Then we added a 6" zinius memory foam and kept the 4" memory foam topper on that. We bought a standard king and cut it down with a bread knife. The zinius had a non-reclosable cover that we replaced with with the cover from the OEM mattress. Perfect....but if you don't already have a topper then I would just buy a 10" king size memory foam and trim it. FYI....you will find that the mattress is encased in a nomex type of flame retardent material. We opened that up, cut the foam and then re-stiched the nomex cover.
The oem mattress isn't even foam...it's some fiberous material.

FYI...Cal. King sheets fit pretty good if you can't find RV king sheets.

In our previous 5th Wheel, it was advertised as having a king bed but it was actually an Olympic Queen 66" X 80" Bigger than a standard Queen bed but smaller than a standard King bed. It was difficult to find bedding that didn't break the bank!

We just replaced our mattress in our new 310GK with a standard king which we had to cut down with an electric knife as mentioned before. Also as mentioned before, cal king sheets seem to work fine.
