Holding Tank level gauges
We are new to RV’ing, we have a Grand Design Imagine 22RBE
We just filled the fresh water tank less than 24 hours ago and it’s already showing 2/3 full on the level gauge panel..
We’ve barely used water..
I did hear through the grapevine though that the gauges aren’t accurate..
I just want to make sure nothing is wrong

There's a few reasons why you'd be less than full, but I wouldn't really worry about it. I will say that RVs opened my eyes a bit to how much water we take for granted. Showering especially.
I go up a hill and my fresh tank drains from full. Movement, too.

We unfortunately have had poor luck with our gauges but have gotten pretty good at guessing the levels. I'm going to go out on a limb and say most are not very reliable.

If you moved since filling, it is possible you spilled/siphoned water out of the overflow while driving. I've never had a fresh water level indication problem. Always been close. It's the tanks that have to deal with liquid etc that is not quite as fresh that I have inaccuracies with.
And for those inaccuracies, if you figure out a way to make the factory style gauges reliable....you will be the first.2018 Dodge 3500 6.7 Cummins SRW w/Aisin

There's the siphon affectvas mentioned and usage also mentioned. There's also the fact that your tank will never be completely full. As your filling, it will hit the overflow before the top of the tank. If you get a water meter that you attach to the hose and watch it as your filling you'll notice how much water your tank will hold before it starts overflowing. As for the siphoning affect, there's a few post on here where members have attached a valve on the overflow but be careful not to forget opening it before using the tank. You risk imploding the tank.
