I will post a picture, but a picture shows what appears to be stainless. It's the sound and feel of it that reveals it is not. Porcelain toilet, we saw a plastic toilet in the coach at the dealer and insisted ours be porcelain.

Then you expect way too much from the RV Industry...features are changing constantly.

They even put a disclaimer at the bottom of almost all pages on their websites and printed brochures.

Grand Design is not tying units up waiting on small minor parts. In case no one noticed, there is still a part's shortage going on.

Now, if it were an air conditioner, stove or recliner, then they will hold it until the parts come in.

    I guess I wouldn’t be

I got curious so I ventured out to look at mine built last year and it could be plastic. Looks like stainless but definitely sounds dull when tapped vs the bathroom sink which sounds like metal
But as has been said a magnet won’t stick to stainless so that theory is wrong

But this doesn't help your situation.

Also, keep in mind that the supply chain for most everything, especially RV parts, is a mess. I do believe the GD website and literature does say something like "features and equipment subject to change." I think the other option is to build the trailer and park it on the back forty waiting for a 'true' stainless steel sink.
If subject to change is acceptable, why list features at all ?? I Will not be parking it, and I just want what was promised.

Crawl underneath and scratch the sink. If it is plastic, you will know it pretty quickly.

The magnet sticks to the metal sink in the bathroom.

I Tried this, not definitive. Unfortunately, the sink looks plastic, however, from both sides.
