    Imagine 21bhe shower

I have a 21 BHE 2019 that I bought used last fall. This is the first time we are useing it and noticed some rot comming behind the wall in the shower while showering . The reason and that's why I'm posting is that is I have a 3/16th space between the base of the shower and the wall surrounding the base.
Is the space normal or should ther be caulking to fill that space all arround the base?
    Thank you in advance

Check the water connections behind your shower valves. Mine leaked very bad where the 1/2" flex line was crimped onto the PEX fitting. I ended up replumbing all of the connections in my FW. 1/2" flex water line and PEX fitting were never designed to go together and most of mine leaked. Also make sure that you black tank air gap is not blasting water out. They can fail and dump a lot of water inside a wall or cavity when you flush the black tank.

The pan extends up behind the shower wall

    Don’t caulk it

Is there something I can do to clean the rot that's coming out?
