    Stopping water pump short cycling

My water pump in my 2020 337RLS has always short cycled and was real bad when drawing water from the kitchen sink faucet. I define pump short cycling as the pump turning on and off once a second while drawing water. After researching water pumps on the web I found many people had success with adding an accumulator tank. Before going to the work of adding an accumulator tank I thought I would try to create a compressible air space in the water system using the washer lines that I don’t use.

I turned off the water, bled the pressure off the system, opened the washer hot and cold valves then opened the hot and cold low point drain tubes on the bottom of the trailer. I got 1-2 cups of water out of both the hot and cold lines while sucking air into the lines from the washer hookups. I then closed the washer valves and closed the low point drain valves and turned the water pump on. The water pump now works great. It is much quieter and no longer short cycles, even on very low flow. If you have unused washer hookup and you use your water pump you might want to give this a try.
