Campground power tripped when running AC and Microwave ,,,,

We have a 2021 22MLE and used the AC for the first time - which worked great.

However, when we used the microwave, within 2 minutes, we lost power. I checked the fuses, which were all OK, then I went outside to see if the main power switched off, which it was.

I was plugged into a 30 amp. Interestingly, the campground box was "hot" to the touch. We decided to shut the AC off while using the microwave, but this cannot be normal, is it ??

It can be normal to not have the ability to run everything in the camper on 30 amp, so this would not be an unusual thing. BUT at the same token If the breaker tripped at the pole and has done so quite a few times it could be a weak breaker. Have the CG look at the pole.
Do you have anything hooked to the pole like this...https://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems-pt30x if not it would help protect the camper .

Been there and had that happen. Campground electrical sources can be sketchy!

    Typical for 30A.

Converter could be drawing 800W. Refrigerator 300W. Water heater 1200W. AC 1500W running, 2400W starting. Microwave 1350W.

    30A service is only 3600W.

Even with the refrigerator and water heater on propane you are over that with just the microwave, AC and converter.

    Yep, all normal.

You probably also had the water heater on electric, fridge on electric, and maybe even a coffee pot or the tv on.....

30 amps goes pretty quickly when running a bunch of electric appliances.

I would recommend a Progressive EMS so you can see exactly what your draw is with selected appliances running, and protect your camper. I think it is quite common to encounter weak breakers in campgrounds, I have come across several. When I report a weak breaker, the campground employee usually gives me "that look", then I tell them exactly how many amps I was pulling when it tripped. They usually make a note and tell me they will put in a work order at that point.
Many sites have a 30 amp as well as a 50 amp rect, a selection of "dogbone" adapters can get you up and going again also.

Speaking only to the 30 amp in the trailer, not the camp ground box problem.
We have a 30 amp trailer and the problem we had was when the a/c compressor cycled on
and we were using other power (microwave) the trailer breaker would flip.
We installed the Micro Air Easy Start in the a/c and have not had a breaker flip since.
    Hope this helps:

Actually they do. I think you meant to say fuses have nothing to do with 120 v ac
I think the op just coined the wrong term
I am from the “fuse box” era
