LP Hose with LOCTITE on connection
So a critter chewed through the propane line from the regulator to the rig. I'm trying to pull the line down to replace it but where it connects under the rig is secured with what looks like red loctite? Definitely not going to put fire on it since its a propane line. Any suggestions?

It's not loctite. It's thread sealant. The red is an automotive grade commonly used in OE applications because it can be pre-applied on threaded items. It will come apart fine. You can use any sealant rated for use with LP/natural gas on the replacement.

I am having the same problem and despite putting Blaster Penetrating Catalyst on it, I have almost entirely stripped the brass fitting. What did you end up doing? My problem is at the termination of the line where the quick connect gas line was attached. It got sheared off and I lost all my propane. I need to seal the termination. Was going to put a cap on it but since I can’t take it off…I am stuck with no propane.

It's not reverse threaded is it?

Yeah…I read about that possibility. Never got around to trying it as I sealed the manifold with JB Weld. Problem fixed…for now. If I ever want to put the quick release back on, I’ll revisit this. I had never used it anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion!

A good set of SAE Flare Nut Wrenches really helps get the gas fittings apart without to much damage.

No doubt the fitting was overtightened from GD's supplier - the propane flex lines actually come to them as full assemblies. Anyway, when overtightened the threads of these tapered connections between different metals of the block versus fittings gall and stretch and will get seized.
