Mark me down as not a fan also. It only shows a few new posts, not all of them.

If you are going to stay with the right side Forum Threads column here are a couple of suggestions:

    Remove the What’s New? button

    Default to the Forum button

For the right side Forum Threads column only show the Subject heading and remove who posted and how many replies, date, etc. That will allow for more entries and widen the column.

Here are two examples but without the Ads:

Another vote for the option to turn it off. I don’t see it as “value added”, but more of a distraction. I also agree with the comments about it taking valuable real estate away.

Also, I just tried the mobile view and don’t care for it, either. Call me old and fickle, but once I’m used to something, I don’t care for change unless it has a payoff. I’d prefer to see things the way they have been.

    Thanks

At first, I thought it might be a replacement for the New Posts display. But, it doesn’t seem to be. I’m not sure what it’s meant to show.

I like scanning down the New Posts list to see what’s new since I last visited, but the sidebar doesn’t match New Posts. So what is it showing?

Thanks for the suggestions. We're still fiddling... This forum has a newer but less configurable version of the software that powers those other boards and frankly it's difficult to customise.

In the coming months we'll be moving to a more stable software platform (XenForo) and there will be a right side column. New members especially appreciate the recent threads feed in the right column as they haven't learned to find the more hidden links to new posts and new threads in the upper nav bar. Thanks for your patience.

I hope you will take into consideration the opinions of the long-time users, as well as the new ones.
