Fresh Water Dump Valve Remote Pull

The way that the fresh water dump valve is placed is hard to reach to pull the valve open. I would like to put an extension on it so it is easier to reach. I've also looked into putting a remote pull handle on it. Would anyone know if the LaSalle Bristol 1-1/2" grey water remote pull valve will fit into the fresh water tank valve. I'm just talking about the portion that operates the gate valve, that is sandwiched between the flanges.

I had a different idea. I was looking into getting one of these cable extensions to run and mount at a more convenient location. I need to confirm the stem at the valve to see what or how to connect them and if I could use the handle once mounted.

I was looking at this valve and was wondering if the center section could be swapped out.

I don't remember who it was - I think it was one of our members who's been a long-time boater - carries a boat hook for several tasks. It's perfect for reaching under there and pulling/closing that valve.

The concern I would have is no where does it say it's NSF approved. It appears to be ABS plastic which is fine for waste use but not potable water. With fresh water I'd be more careful of it's construction. Otherwise if the body matches it should work fine. That listing gives free returns so if it doesn't work send it back.

Looks like a new tool in the shopping cart! I see a lot of uses for the boat hook. The water valve, measuring slide out distance, pulling things out of the back of the truck, pulling jack blocks from under the trailer, the list goes on.

My fresh water slide valve tends to dribble a bit. I was going to replace it with a ball valve. I don't drain it too often.

It's already in my cart! Didn't even think about using something like this. This would come in handy for so many things.

OK, a little ribbing here... a retired sailor didn't think of a boat hook (I know, I used them on sailboats but there's not much use for one around ships).

Thanks @Rob. Just got my boat hook today. Haven't even used it and wonder how I have got along without it.
