2019 Silverado 3500 SRW Short Box - Hitch Recommendations for 2017 Solitude 310GK?
Hello everyone, new here, but I'm sure we'll be regulars! We have been searching for just the right unit and just made a down payment on a 2017 Solitude 310GK-R that'll become a full time unit for us in a year or so.
I have a few weeks before I pick it up, so I have a little time to figure out which hitch to go with, but I'd love to learn from y'all. I've done some research, but I find that the best advice comes from real people, rather than the sites selling the hitches.
Does anyone tow this unit with a similar truck, and what hitch would you recommend? I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Duramax, Z71. It is a SRW Short Box, with the 5th Wheel prep package, so I'd prefer a hitch that works with the puck system.
Thanks everyone, and I look forward to getting to know you!
Andrew

A couple of things to think about here... 1) with a short bed and a Solitude (widest body of the fifth wheels), I would want an auto-sliding hitch; 2) auto-sliders (I'm partial to the PullRite and the Demco) are heavy beasts. Our Solitude 310GK-R put's 3,280 lbs. on the pin per the CAT scales. Does your SRW truck have enough payload for that, a heavy hitch, occupants, fuel, etc.? If you can pass the payload sniff test, most of the major manufacturers make hitches to fit the GM puck system.
