I'm going to do my "flow chart" in the direction the water flows:

Park water connection -> hose (heavy-duty and will withstand the pressure) -> (the rest of this is inside the heated utility bay) Y with valves on each output -> water pressure regulator -> 90 degree elbow -> city water inlet -> whole-house filter -> house

This way, the water for the black tank flush does not go through the pressure regulator nor the water filter (no need for either).

Thanks for the post, Rob. Have you thought about putting quick disconnect fittings on the fresh water inlet and the black tank flush? I am wondering if this would lead to more problems than what the quick disconnects would make up for in benefits. Any thoughts?

I've thought about it - and others have done it - but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Quick disconnects would probably reduce the wear and tear on the not-so-sturdy plastic connectors and threads.

I bought 3' sections of hose and leave them permanently attached to the fresh and black tank rinse fittings on the Nautilus panel. I then put quick disconnects on the other ends of these short hoses. This has worked really well so far and I don't worry about stripping the cheap plastic fittings on the Nautilus panel by connecting and disconnecting hoses every few days while traveling.

The other big advantage is I don't have any water dripping from the panel fittings onto and into into the gray/black tank handles below when disconnecting hoses. This happened on my first 5th wheel and I ended up having rust form on the cables and the valves became difficult to operate. After a year and a half of full time use with my current RV, my gray and black valves operate just like they were new.

Inside the utility bay I've always had a water pressure regulator and a 90-degree elbow to reduce stress on the city water inlet fitting. I've recently added a lead-free brass Y just before the pressure regulator and got a 3' "metal flex" hose to run from the Y to the black tank flush inlet. I disconnect and drain this short hose at the black flush inlet after each use so, as @FT4NOW said, nothing gets contaminated. It takes me less time now and I don't have to mess with a second long hose. It's especially nice during cold/freezing weather. I'm a happier camper.

Hi Rob, why the flex hose? To avoid kinking? Setup looks great, asking because I fully intend to copy!

Basically, yes. The flex hose I ordered (from Amazon) was the shortest, most flexible piece of hose with good quality fittings I could find. It has worked out very well.

How is it that you have your water filter hooked up?

If you're asking me, see my post no. 8 on the first page of this thread. The Solitudes and Momentums have built-in water filters in the utility bay.

Hi Rob!! This is awesome and so helpful. I have a 21 BHE Imagine and my connection area is a little tight. What are you thoughts on have a 1 foot flex hose from the inlet with Elbow (to create some space) and then pressure regulator and then y and then the 3 footer hose for black tank wash and other y side for fresh. I will have to figure out where to put filter. Thoughts? Thank you again.
