Murphy Bed

The Murphy bed is unsightly with the bedding showing. Has anyone made a modification to cover this issue? We are thinking of a shower rod with a valance or a curtain to cover the linen.

I purchased a second upper wood piece from Grand design. They list 2 parts, I ordered

Part 651933 : MDF 5/8 X 60 7/8 X 7 MOBSTER MAPLE 3D TRANSITION HEADER 6H-04-C

$100 with shipping.
I had to remove the side edge with a heat gun, trimmed it about 1/4” glued it back with contact cement.
I used 2 small stainless steel piano hinges, self sticky Velcro on the sides to hold it in place.
