15 inch tires
If anyone has shopped for a 15” tire you found your options limited if you wanted a slight upgrade. After making the decision to stay with a 15” wheel and wanted an all steel belted with a rib tread, I choose the Carlisle CSL 16 225/75r 15. This thing weighs 45 lbs. and IMHO looks like a trailer tire should.
Please hold the tire bashing comments. I have been able to wear out or age out Carlisle products as well as other foreign brands. This post is intended to point out what I believe is an unrecognized tire for users of 15” wheels, not a lot of reviews out there.

That does look promising. My only concern is the needed 95 psi for max weight rating. If your rims are only good for 65 psi will that be enough for your load rating?

True, however, most modern axels utilizing a 15” wheel in a TT application, will be at the very least a 4000 lb.- 4500 lb. axel and therefore not requiring the maximum psi of 95 lbs.. The additional sidewall support provided by this tire construction will significantly reduce the sidewall deflection found in a load range E bias and steel ply tire. At best one would only require an inflation of 75 lbs., matching the axel rating and not exceed the wheel psi rating, even after the tire heats up. 🧐
