    Tire Replacement

Has anyone replaced their ST205s with ST215s?

The issue is going to be whether or not you have clearance to the underside of the trailer with tires of a larger diameter. The stock suspension will have 2-1/2 to 3" of travel. You can measure the clearance you have now, subtract three inches, and use this tire size calculator to see if the increased diameter would leave too little clearance for safety:

Thanks. The difference in diameter is .6 inches and the width is .4 inches. Even though I have the clearance I’m sticking with the ST205s.

I’ve never seen a 215 size, ST225/75R15 is common upgrade size. I considered it in the spring and looking back I kinda wish I did go bigger. I was planning on adding sumosprings at the time and now that I have I don’t have any concerns with floor contact. The bigger tires would handle our terrible roads better and help in the soft soils of some of the campgrounds we have frequented lately.

Thanks. Found this tire at Discount Tire Goodyear Endurance ST215/75R
14 in my area. See attached. Tire Rep. tried to get me to move up to this size. Decided to stay with the ST205s.
