    Check your leveling system bolts!

A couple months ago I installed the snap pads on my 349M and since have been concerned with how low the jacks sit while retracted. This is the before shot ..

So I finally got around to adjusting the jacks up a little (basically doing the same as JD did in this video)
and found out that almost all of the 1/2" bolts weren't torqued at all. Mine came with the 1/2-20 grade 8 bolts & nuts for which Lippert specifies 90 ft-lbs lubricated & 120 ft-lbs dry

There wasn't one bolt that was torqued to more than 30 ft-lbs. I could easily loosen them with a 6" 3/4" boxed end wrench with no struggling. Plus one bolt was completely missing. (my unit was built in Oct 2020 & I bought it new in Dec 2020)

So next time you're under your rig, I'd suggest putting a wrench (preferably a torque wrench) on the heads of the jack mounting screws just to make sure they're tight.

That jack looks really low. How high off the ground are you?

The jack *was* (past tense) really low. My post is about lifting it. See the linked BTBRV video ..

When we took delivery of our Solitude in February, 2020, I found about a dozen bolts on the struts were loose - about half of them not even finger-tight and loose enough to rattle. Fortunately, one of our other "forum friends" had posted about this topic which prompted me to check.

Wow - that was before I'd even heard of Grand Design, so I had no idea. I'll bet I lost one of the bolts because it was so loose.

Rob, do you think this is something GD should be aware of (if they're not).

It was brought to their attention by several of us. I don't know if Lippert/LCI installs the jacks on the chassis prior to delivery to GD or not, though.
