Need Modified Doors for 395MS-please help

Hello all. We are new to this forum and have joined searching for answers to this problem. We have a brand new Momentum 395MS. The three season doors have gaps that let in air and bugs and more importantly than that, I am very worried that mice can get in. We love to use our patio but are very very serious about trying to find a better door that will seal up appropriately and also travel well. It seems that most of you have far more experience and knowledge than we do. We are newbies and full-time. We Hope you can help. Thank you so much in advance.

Yes. But responses on other forums basically said to us that it was not meant to be a weatherproof/critter proof door but really just used as a weather screen. We have contacted grand design, but they are replacing it with the exact same doors and we don’t think that is enough. Thoughts?

Yep, it is basically meant to keep the heat/a/c in or out.

There is no way to seal it completely like an interior door.

I mean, you could, but it would defeat the toyhauler usage by having to swing them out of the way to use the ramp.

We don’t use it as a toy hauler. That being said, now do you think regular doors would work?

Why not just replace the sweep seals with a solid rubber seal then?

Where are the gaps? Between the 2 sections of doors when closed? At the sidewalls?

I would look into some sticky backed seals and close it up.

I understand your concerns, but if rodents and insects are your primary reasoning to want to seal the 3 season door, then you're spinning your wheels. Your slides are the largest entry point for critters (besides your underbelly). Just lift up the corners of your floor flapper on your dining slide and you'll see daylight. RVs are many things, sealed against bugs and critters is not one of them.

Your best bet is prevention outside the RV. Don't have piles of stuff to attract critters, etc.
