Terrible gaps in slide corners letting mice in

We have huge gaps in the corners of our slide. Brand new unit had mice infested over winter. We cannot figure out a way to keep them out. The gaps are huge. Ridiculous that this happens. Poor design and wondering if there is a solution.

If you read from the start, you'll see that these are drain wholes to let water out when you pull in your slide. An easy way to keep unwanted visitors from coming in but still let water out is to put steel wool in the holes.

Yep, what YNOT4ME2 said. I used bronze wool as another suggested. Have had no bugs or mice issues.

However, there is one additional step that I took. With the slide partially or fully extended, look up in those corners from the outside (where those drain holes are). What you will find is that it is also open to the outside, above those holes. You have to look to see what I mean. I used pieces of foam to fill those gaps and taped it up; essentially boxing in that hole that you now have stuffed bronze or steel wool into. You are not trying to block those drain holes from doing their job but you can box that space in so that it is closed off from the outside while still allowing it to drain if necessary. So far I've not seen any sign that there has been any water draining down that hole but I guess if the slide seal failed it would be good to have. Hope that helps.
