    Question Washing roof

Time to scrub my roof. I used a soft bristled car/truck brush, but it didn't clean as well as I'd like. How stiff of a bristle can you go without damaging the TPO membranes. I've looked at window, deck, and other type brushes. Some were obviously too stiff (deck), but still looking for a better wash result. The Dawn worked well, but did not give me the whiteness I was looking for. Thank you.

Dicor recommends "medium" deck brush for EPDM roofs. I imagine the TPO would be about the same. I ordered "Better Boat Deck Brush Medium Bristle 8" Head" from Amazon. It works fairly well but like you I wanted more scrub but am a bit afraid to get too rough with it.

I tried looking up that brush, but must be sold out. Could not find that brush.

I don't think the whiter your roof is matters in keeping the water out. Just be careful your not doing more damage by cleaning it to hard. Alpha has some pretty specific and simple instructions on how to clean their TPO roof.

The instructions have been posted on this site before.
