Retired and Ready to Roll... Almost.

We retired at the end of April 2020 and are long time RVers having had tent trailers, trailers, motorhomes, 5th wheels. Our last RV before we bought our GD310GK last year was a Keystone Montana, which we owned for 18 years. That thing was pretty much indestructible but we finally put it out to pasture. Hoping to get the same luck with our 310GK.

Getting the 310GK ready for a 3 to 4 week western/coastal USA trip leaving in early August.

Will do another post with mods we've made so far and hope to see some of yours.

Hope to meet some of you down the road.

    Congratulations and welcome!

Wow 18 years! Sounds like you all don't beat them up, so they last!

By your post, you infer you purchased your 310GK in 2020? Before the pandemic RV craze? If that is so, that might be good. Based on the reports from other members, manufacturing quality during the pandemic has seemingly taken a downturn. We have been lucky with our 2021 320MKS that we picked up in January in that nothing major has been found, issue wise. The usual minor things, like trim and a flexible vent duct that came un-taped from the rigid duct under the floor. Other than that, she has survived a 2 will trip through the Hill Country of Texas, during some of the hottest and humid June weather Texas has had in a while.

Hey MoonShadow.... good to hear from you.

Our Montana we had did take quite a beating, we took it out every chance we had and we had kids with us. It was a 2001 that we bought in July of 2000. Those RVs back then were built more solid and with better workmanship than now, I'm sorry to say.

Our Grand Design 310 was built in mid-2020 and our area was already wearing masks due to the Covid craze. We bought it off the lot a month after it arrived at the dealer. We prefer to buy off the lot as we can inspect the RV to our heart's content, turn in our list of 'fixes' and the dealer then has time to fix those before we come back and do the official PDI with the dealer. We had already compiled a list of potential problems that we saw others experiencing in other GD forums so we had a head start on our 'fix-it' list for the dealer.

We've compiled another 'fix-it' list since we have brought it home as we've seen more common problems others are having and hopefully will avoid the same fate while out on the road.

Texas was on our itinerary for next month but the Texas relatives (Robstown area) we were going to visit are coming out here this weekend so we have changed our itinerary to take us to Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon coast and then back home in Northern California. Might add in Utah to the trip. Looking forwards to rolling down the road. Hopefully Oregon doesn't burn up before we get there as we saw the new estimated 'containment' date is Nov. 30th.
