Hey guys,

Planning a trip next year to Bryson City NC and will be coming from Lower AL. Google wants to route me though Atlanta, up hwy 23 and west on 74. Any issues with that route? Deep Creek Campground got pretty good reviews so we may stay there.

I assume google is bringing you into and thru Atlanta on I85.
Where are you being routed onto Hwy 23 from I85?

Looks like its saying I85 to I985 to hwy23

Okay that's good. Can you tell which I985 exit is is turning you onto Hwy 23?

It looks like 985 just kind of turns into 23

I live in Flowery Branch between I985 and hwy 23.
You are good to this point, I am not too familiar with the routes North of Gainesville but so far
google has done right by you.

One word of caution, when approaching I985 on I85 the I985 exit is in the far LEFT lane.

We love Deep Creek and have a stay planned in October. I985, US23, US74 is the way we go too.

Their website has some advice on GPS routing and routes to avoid, as well as directions through town. There definitely are turns in town you want to avoid. The last mile looks really slim, but it’s not an issue. Although, if a trailer is coming the other way, you still hope they’re a good tow-er.
