Using a cordless drill to raise/lower the tongue

Does anyone do this instead of use the motor? I had never thought about it until someone on a different forum mentioned that they skip using the built-in motor now because it's so slow (and it sure is, seems like LCI is really zeroing in on just how small they can go with the motor). Instead, they use a cordless drill, just like for the stabilizer jacks.

I had never thought to do that in a non-failure situation. Creative, but I wonder if it harms anything.

Never in that kind of rush I guess

I would hate to harm something

I have only used the drill when putting it in storage. I pulled the battery before I lowered the tongue. I didn't think it was that easy with the drill. If you have a two speed drill be sure it is on low, setting one on my Dewalt.

The thought never crossed my mind and I use my drill for the stabilizers. I use the Anderson tub under the tongue to save distance which means time.

Yeah I use one of those, too. Kinda wish I had a telescoping foot on this rig like I did on my Jayco, it was also very handy for cutting down the time waiting for the jack. Helped that the jack wasn't as slow, either.

You can buy those Flip feet for your GD. I installed The Flip Foot.

If you have a Lippert tongue jack, here is an adjustable foot pad. It is the perfect diameter to use with the Andersen tongue jack block. https://store.lci1.com/extended-inne...ks-405217.html

I like the idea of the tub. Seems it would also be more stable than the aftermarket add on feet/pads.
