    US 97 in Washington State

Has anyone traveled from Ellensburg WA North on US 97 up to US 2 and then East to Cashmere WA? I see on the map it's a scenic route. We would be pulling our 5th wheel and traveling with friends who have a Class C motor home towing a jeep.

Thanks for any info on this route

It's a good road. It's also a good size pass. Just let the truck do the work at a slower pace.

Chelan County Expo Center located in Cashmere Washington has a reasonably priced rv park. Huge sites. We stayed there last Sept. $27.00 FHU.

Blewett is pretty, for sure. I don't tow as big a rig but I've never had any problems on that road. It's a little desolate and boring at the Ellensburg end but once you join up with 970 (which then becomes 97) and start climbing, it's very scenic. Sadly I don't think I'll be going that way much any more, the last bit of family I had in Wenatchee has passed on.

We will be heading over Blewett in September to stay at Leavenworth for a couple days. My wife and i love it over there. The pass is fine unless you get stuck behind a big rig. Pretty good coffee spot as you come down the east side of Blewett, i think its called the (Rock 97). Wife swears they have the best coffee. Also check out the BBQ place in Cashmere, they have really good brisket.
