Question 2022 Reflection 260RD - Bed storage access will not stay open

When I access the under bed storage, the bed does not stay open. Should the shock struts hold the bed open so it is easy to access the under bed storage?

The struts should hold up the platform and mattress. Have you replaced the OEM mattress with something heavier? If not, have your dealer warranty out the struts with some that will hold the bed up.

If you swap out the mattress for a memory foam they are too weak. I believe they are 100 lbs. I had the same problem picked up some 150s from Amazon. 5 minutes to swap out, hold great.

Thanks, they did not hold up the normal mattress, but now I added a foam topper so I will take your advice and get more powerful struts.

Hello, We came across your post and are wondering if the 150# struts worked well for you? We have the Reflection 260RD as well and wanted to be sure the new ones are holding up your bed to access the storage below. We had replaced our mattress a year ago and have struggled since! Thank you!

When I went to replace the struts I found one of them was bad so I only replaced one of them. The 150 lb was too much shock and even with only one installed that one side keeps trying to open. I suggest using 100 lb instead.

Thank you so much. This will help us save time in getting our RV ready for Arizona in a few weeks.
