What caulk does GD use around the running lights

It's not silicone. It's sticky, and comes off pretty cleanly with mineral spirits. Is it clear(ish) butyl caulk? Some kind of urethane?

    Edit: Pro flex clear?

That's silicone, and it sure doesn't seem like the stuff I just scraped off is any kind of silicone I've ever used. And dissolves really easily with mineral spirits, which also suggests it's not silicone.

ProFlex caulk is the preferred sealant for vertical surfaces. I believe it's a urethane caulk.

Yeah everything I'm reading says it's almost certainly pro flex. In particular, it's probably Geocel 2300 MHRV, and pro flex rv is their consumer-oriented equivalent.

I've seen some people say that lexel copolymer caulk is acceptable in a pinch, as it is usually available at the big box stores.

The more I use urethane caulks, the more I don't ever want to use silicone. Except for making gaskets, it's great for that.

In the past, I've purchased directly from Geocell. https://www.geocelusa.com/product/pr...xible-sealant/

I had used Geocel 28100V Pro Flex Crystal Clear RV Flexible Sealant on rear window frame and around tail lights.
I found after ~6 months it had hardened and started lifting off.
It reminded me of dried hot melt glue. Definetely not the very flexible stuff they put around the running lights.
I figured I got a bad tube, but later on I saw a few comments about hardening on the web and Amazon reviews.

The two Geocel sealants; 2300 MHRV, ProFlexRV seem similar.

    2300 MHRV - https://www.geocelusa.com/wp-content...00MHRVTech.pdf
    Composition and Materials:
2300 MHRV Sealant is based on a proprietary formulation of polymers designed to provide optimum flexibility, adhesion, and weather resistance.

    ProFlexRV - https://www.paintdocs.com/docs/webPD...00&doctype=PDS
    Composition and Materials:
Pro Flex RV Sealant is based on a proprietary formulation of polymers designed to provide optimum flexibility, adhesion, weather resistance, and durability.

    Geocel 2300 Construction Tripolymer Sealant - https://www.paintdocs.com/docs/webPD...09&doctype=PDS
    Composition and Materials:
2300 Sealant is based on a proprietary formulation of polymers designed to provide optimum flexibility, adhesion, weather resistance, and durability.
2300 Sealant retains its flexibility due to the absence of plasticizers, which tend to migrate out causing hardening and reduced durability
