Micro Air vs Softstart RV
Looking to upgrade my Reflection ac units with one of these units. They both seem to have good reviews and mostly easy installations. Does anyone have strong negative issues with either. I guess I like both at this point. Thanks.

You can get the MicroAir with Bluetooth now...

If you're a techno-geek, it lets you monitor the power usage of your A/C unit. The app is very basic but it does show some interesting data. I used it while doing the learn process and it was kinda cool to see the data. I like the Hutch Mountain install kit because it includes higher quality components (e.g. Wago connectors) than the MicroAir install kit.
I did a quick search and it looks to me like the two units are very similar although I wasn't able to find an actual detailed side to side comparison/review.

I have the MicroAir. I believe it was the original maker of these "soft-start" units. Then along came Softstart and their social media promotions, gifts to YouTube influencers, etc. in order to promote their units. I actually think folks lost sight of MicroAir.
Anyhow...... I had an occasion to have a technical discussion with the MicroAir folks about a month ago about the exact operation of their unit. They answered all my questions, readily accepted some feedback I provided regarding the experience I have had, and spent a lot of time on the phone with me.
So, in the end, I'd buy another MicroAir unit if/when needed. I know they are there when needed. And I like the idea of the Bluetooth connection they've recently included with their units.Larry KE4DMG
