    Love These Old Retro Trailers

Next to us in the campground, gotta love these old trailers or new retro trailers. Reminds me of our old 1970's 19 foot Carriage TT. Now that thing was built! All copper tubing water lines and metal tanks. Didn't have a fresh water demand pump, used air pressure to force water out. Exterior water tank screw on cap for adding water. It was a single axle trailer but had a huge axle with huge springs. Yup was heavy for a 19 footer but simple, functional.

This one I just saw looked perfect for the older couple using it. And they have style, look at the big front window with curved glass. that might be a problem if it ever got broke but I'm sure these new retros have assess to new glass.
Yup RV's have come a long way since the old days, and not always for the better, but that was camping in the old days.

We have friends that have restored retro trailers and they absolutely love them. They are very cool to look at. Nice conversation pieces but I'll stick to the modern conveniences.

Yes it looked like a new remake of an old design, and yes some of the modern conveniences are nice to have. As much as we tend to complain about the new appliances not working, or failing early, they are far ahead of the really old designs. In our old 70's Carriage things like the fridge, furnace and water heater were all simple non electronic controlled units and would probably be considered hazardous today. And it didn't have fire alarms or CO2 sensors in it.
And like in our case I can't imagine full timing in a unit with no slides or like an airstream, it would be just too confining for us.

On the other hand, now our Daughter / Son In Law purchased from an individual, an older, say early 2000's, Montana top tier 5er that had set for a long time and had some water damage from seals leaking. They have went through it, stripped and replaced a lot of the interior and fixed everything themselves. Now they have a comparable unit to ours for less than $10K total not counting their labor. But they are young and full of energy and its taken them a couple years but they are happy with it.
