Dead battery confusion
2021 Solitude 380 FLR.
Factory Solar
Chin 300 Ah 12v battery
Last Thursday 7/13, I parked my rig at the storage unit and forgot to disconnect the battery at the main switch in the forward pass through compartment. I went by on Monday and the battery still had 11.7 volts charge. I disconnected the battery when I left.
I went out this afternoon and the battery had discharged down to 8 volts. If anything, the battery discharge should have slowed, since the disconnect was open. This happened before I upgraded batteries, also. Its my understanding that by opening that switch, it shuts all parasitic drain except for safety items.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!

For a lead-acid, the voltage drop is fairly linear, but for your lithium it’s more like a step function so 11.7V would indicate nearly complete discharge.
Your propane/CO detector would be the big parasitic load, but isn’t really very big. Any chance your inverter is on?
You may be better off to install a real disconnect for storage. You’d have to turn it on for the jacks to work, so no risk of forgetting it if it’s only used at the storage lot.John & Kathy

Thanks. The inverter should have been off. I emptied the reefer and thought I shut everything down. I have factory solar, so I have a complete disconnect between the battery and the inverter. I will open that switch tomorrow and try that. Thanks for the input.
