2022 2800BH or 2910BH with Silverado 1500
Hi everyone,
We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids under 10 yrs old. Hubby is over 6ft tall. We have a seasonal lot, plus we want to visit other campgrounds approx 3-4 times per year, within a 400km radius of our seasonal lot. Floorplan of the 2910BH seems perfect, but a bit concerned over towing.
I am leasing my silverado 1500 diesel, and lease is up July 2023 when I will pick a vehicle suited to my rig and daily driving situation. I don't drive much. About 18,000 kms per year.
Current truck sticker on door:
GVWR 7200
GCWR 15000
RGAWR 3800
curb weight 5402
payload 1798
Safe Trailer:
weight 9000 lbs
max tongue weight 900
Questions:
1. Can I safely tow the 2800BH or 2910BH on 3 to 4 trips per year at 400km max trip with my current truck?
2. When I purchase my new truck in 2023, what should I get?
Trying to buy the right camper to get by until the end of my lease and then match the right truck to the right camper for my family.
I was looking at other brands, like the wildwood 26BUD and xlite 263bhxl.....but they looked like the quality was very low. Now I am looking at Grand Design or Jayco.

You will be over the gvwr. Only you can decide if you are okay with that
As far as can you “safely tow”, who knows
I would be quite confident in my ability in towing overloaded but again only you can answer that
Goodluck
