2021 Imagine Ext Speaker upgrade issue

Hi I’m looking to upgrade my speakers for:

    2021 Imagine 17 MKE

Having some trouble finding exterior speakers with built in speaker within the cover/housing.

If anyone can share sourcing ideas or other alternatives that would be very much appreciated.

Looking forward to stepping up from the existing 10 watts. Actually can’t believe Grand Design would allow the trailer off the line with such a poor quality sound. Can’t imagine an automobile dealer making that mistake.

    Thanks,

    Duane

If you can't believe it then you don't know the RV industry. They like to include things that look/send 'cool' but are of poor quality.

I would look at Crutchfield.com. That is where I get all my audio equipment. You are going to want a marine speaker. The mount/housing will be the challenge.

You may also want to contact Elite Audio in South Carolina and see if they have any recommendations. There phone number is on their website.

I would recommend you do what I did, get a good bluetooth speaker like the Sonos Roam!

A decent BT portable speaker is probably the easiest way to go with the better sound.

Found these in ebay. You could then out in a good marine speaker.

Basically you can just buy a speaker that fits the diameter and any poly cone. As long as it is not a paper cone it will be weather proof. It doesn't actually have to be designated as "marine" but it does need a poly cone. But I do agree with Ynot4me2 that a portable Bluetooth speaker would actually be more convenient for you and your neighbors. You can set it next to you without having to turn it up for the next trailer to hear in order for you to hear it. Unless you don't care about that, then that's a moot point. I find that to be the worst thing about the recent trend of exterior speakers; people forget that others may not want to listen to whatever they are listening to.

Those are what I used and filled them with infinity marine speakers. The stock ones are basically tweeters that are easily over driven. The new ones are a huge improvement...we use them to drown out generator noise.
