Jury Duty Summons - Texas and South Dakota Domicile.
Howdy all y'all! In doing research on where to establish our domicile when we go full time, we are considering Texas and South Dakota.
I'd like to solicit feedback from full timers who are domiciled in either Texas or South Dakota and who have received a Jury Summons (or someone with first hand knowledge of what process should be followed). What was the process you followed for the summons? Did you serve? Did you have to pull up stakes and travel back to the domicile and report for Jury Duty?
I searched the forum and found a thread about Jury Duty for St. Brendons Isle, but nothing substantial was posted on it.
Thanks all!Mark & Mary. Full-timing across the USA (and Canada)!

For information...
I received a PM from another member who echoed what the receptionist at the courthouse told me when I called the Polk County Courthouse.
When you receive a Jury Summons, call and explain that you are traveling. They SHOULD excuse you.
By law, they don't have to excuse you, hence my capital SHOULD, above.

I have received at least three jury duty summons from Polk County, TX, in the past six years. In each case, the "snail mail" summons reached us after the court date due to being forwarded by the Escapees Mail Service (we don't need to have our mail forwarded very often). Each time when I called the clerk of the court I was told, "Thanks for calling - let us know when you're back in Livingston and would like to serve." The folks in Polk County know that, when they mail a summons to Rainbow Drive, it's an Escapee and most likely a full-timer (a few older Escapees live full-time at Rainbow's end in Livingston) and don't get their panties in a wad. Interestingly, Laura has never received a summons. Don't know what to make of that...
