Adding Anti-Stiction Fluid To Lippert 6 Point System

Has anyone done this procedure? I downloaded the Lippert addendum outlining the process but would like more input from someone that's actually done it.

    Thanks, Ron

Yes, I added the CAT fluid. Works great. You just suck out one quart of fluid from the reservoir then add the new fluid. No noise at all from the hydraulic system since adding the fluid a year ago. You're supposed to cycle the jacks a few times to get the fluid mixed around but we move every few days and just let the fluid mix naturally with use.

Where did you get the Caterpillar Oil?

Shows I can use Torco or Maxima Fork Oil. Does it make any difference which oil I use so long as it's on the addendum?

We got our fluid from the local CAT dealer. I think any of the recommended fluids will work but I've only used CAT oil in our last two 5th wheels.

If Lippert says it's good, I'd go with it.
Fork oil is good stuff and likely easier to find.

Our local farmer's co op had the Maxima Fork Oil. Used it and system is much quieter.

    EDIT to Add Online Sources:

I just checked price of the CAT additive at Peterbuiltparts.com - ~$31/qt
Maxima Fork Oil direct is $11/LTR https://maximausa.com/i-30497689-for...oz-15wt.html#!

Another Edit: Shipping for 1 QT from Maxima is nearly double the cost of the oil.

Yeah, lots of motorcycle shops around here. I can get it easily off Amazon too.

We ordered the CAT anti-stiction fluid from Amazon. Yes - the CAT fluid works much better than the other two fork oils (ask me how I know...).

That's what I was going to order but apparently it's not on Amazon anymore. I searched caterpillar 1U-9891 as specified, and Caterpillar Hydraulic Oil Additive and nothing came up.
