    Solera power awning help

Last night my awning was out during light to medium rain. I heard a snap noise, the power end of awning collapsed downward. After inspecting the damage I have I broken hydraulic arm, no bent or twisted metal , however the awning won’t close.
I removed the motor and it works fine, all the gears are fine to. When I power up it will move slightly forward and backwards but won’t close the manual nut keeps spinning though.
Any ideas as to what is broke also how to close it manually since that nut just spins freely.
    Thanks

How do I put it in, the awning doesn’t turn, there is no binding on the arm. The cylinder holds no pressure.

You say it will move slightly forward and backwards
The awning or just the motor?

If the manual nut is spinning but the awning isn't moving, it sounds like the connection to the awning has sheared.

Hoopy I think you are correct. This is where my trouble shooting will stop. It’s a brand new trailer I’ll hire out a Mobil tech to complete job.

If you hop on a picnic table are you able to hand role the awning? If so then when its all rolled in, you can secure the awning arms with tie-wraps or something. Just to get you back home.

If you are going to leave your awning out in the rain I suggest buying or making supports
Mine is out in torrential rain as we speak and no issues
And always lower both ends so it drains off the front

Had the same experience, the motor end just snapped off.

It takes a huge amount of wrenching to retract manually. Several years back our motor failed and we eneded up using a cordless driver/drill once we realized how many manual turns it would take. Doing it by hand would have taken all day. Sometimes we have had acorns or twigs fall into the arms and bind it from retracting.
