    Tandem Axle Equalizer

I was in the Outer Banks (North Carolina) and trailer (GD 22MLE) was not handling well on the bridge. There was some dolphin-like motion on the uneven pavement surfaces. I own a 2021 22ME. Would it be worth replacing what came with the unit? An if so, then what you would recommend? Lippert Road Armor or MORryde CRE3000 or Dexter unit?

    Thanks!
    Best Regards,

    Ziggy

Porpoising usually has more to do with the Weight Distributing Hitch (WDH) than it does the trailer suspension. Check your hitch setup to be sure it is at is optimal setup before looking for anything else.

Okay, thanks! The RV was handling fine until I went over uneven road or when I went over a high bridge at the Outer Banks and in Charleston. Thanks!

Yep, the motion you describe has everything to do with the wdh set up. (and having the right one)

Ok, Thanks! I got the WDH from the dealer and I assume the Husky was fine.

The Husky Centreline is a top hitch. It is what I use and works 100 percent
You need to run your rig through a cat scale and get your weights
Not returning the weight to the front end causes porpoising

I think there are plenty of no cost ways to ease your porpoising problem as many others have said. BUT, I recently added the Lippert Road Armor equalizer to my trailer. Before the new equalizer I had a little bit of porpoising. Nothing ridiculous, maybe a 2 or 3 undulations. After installing the Road Armor, I feel nothing! I believe adding the Road Armor to my trailer was the best upgrade I made. I did it primarily because we were heading North to Michigan and I knew we would encounter some bad roads. But actually the worst roads were in the South. I-65 through Birmingham, Nashville, Louisville is total garbage. I do know the Road Armor helped immensely over that freeway section. At the end of the travel day very little to nothing had moved inside the trailer.

Then other times there is nothing that will help. The unevenness of the road gets your rig into a frequency and it will just not stop. I had this on a looping offramp somewhere along I-55 in Mississippi. I had to slow down to about 10 mph from 45 mph to get the undulations to stop. It was the worst I had ever experienced.

Adjusting the WDH is free. If that doesn't help then how are the shocks on the tow vehicle? Next would be an equalizer.
